'Tis the weekend.

5:38 a.m.

We're off to Atlanta this weekend, and Hubby and I are both looking forward to the trip. I am up early packing this morning, so hopefully we can leave town fairly early (as soon as the judge lets me go).

Cinzel is keeping the boys, and I bet she laid awake last night wondering just how she got herself into this predicament. Both boys just loooove Cinzel, and they are very excited.

The dogs are staying at the vet's office this weekend in their boarding service. Due to a freak accident two days ago, Queenie, the young cat, is also staying at the vet's office this weekend, but in their patient area.

Queenie has recently started laying on top of the open garage door, but always jumps down onto the car in the garage when we hit the door opener/closer. We actually leave the garage door open quite a bit because she loves to come and go inside and outside so much.

Wednesday evening Hubby shut the door, and she obviously decided to go outside and didn't jump down onto the van, so he never even knew she was up there. Her leg was caught in the garage door until a minute or so later a lady came banging on the front door to tell him.

He, of course, opened the door, which released her, and she ran off at lightning speed. We couldn't find her that evening, but she showed up yesterday morning, approximately 15 hours after the incident. Her left back foot was very swollen, and she put no weight on it at all. Even gimpy, she was difficult to catch and put into the carrier for the trip to the vet, though.

She has a broken leg, and today they will be splinting the leg, having kept her sedated and on pain meds yesterday. Poor thing.

So...anyone want to wager which child we'll have to sell to pay the vet bill when we get back???

Oldest Son's baseball team FINALLY won a game last night. It has been a long season, with almost a full month left to go. Hopefully this will boost their confidence enough to do it again.

Kindergarten is having a beach day today at school, so Youngest Son has to bring a complete change of clothes, plus a pail, shovel, sand toys, etc. His book bag is full today.

I don't know the status yet of whether he will be passing kindergarten or not. His work has improved tremendously since we have worked so hard on it at home. He still writes some letters, and particularly the numbers, backwards, but has greatly improved. He reads all the sight words they've had except for three of them: "Was," "Are," and "Eight." "Was" he will eventually figure out, but "are" and "eight" just don't seem to make any sense to him.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Guess I'd better wrap this up and go do some of the things I still need to do this a.m. before work.

See y'all on the flip side!

Over and out.

have fun... one of my cats does the same thing with the garage dooor, except she caught the end of her tail in the opener somehow, and it took about an inch of it off, along with a bunch of tendons or something.. we found the tail end on the garage floor, and then noticed her tail was a bit shorter... OWWWWW!!!
