$500 seems cheap to me.

Ever have those days/weeks/months when you just can't get yourself motivated to do anything??? I'm in one now.

No matter where I look, I see work to do that I don't want to do. I really need a kid-free and husband-free day to get the house whipped back into shape. The past three weeks I've been in a court term, and the house just gets steadily worse as the term progresses.

Youngest Son is sick. He threw up in Oldest Son's bed around 4:00 this morning. I sent Oldest Son to our bed, cleaned up Youngest Son and sent him back to his own bed, and then commenced stripping Oldest Son's bed. It's all clean, but I still need to go put it back together.

Right now Youngest Son is laying on the couch watching a movie wearing sweats, his jacket, and covered with a heavy blanket. His fever hasn't gotten over 100, but I can't seem to get it down. He's also complaining his neck hurts, which to him means his throat hurts. I'm guessing we'll be at the doctor's office tomorrow.

Hubby and I cut some of the grass around here yesterday afternoon and this afternoon. We ran out of gas yesterday, and we were going to have to go buy a new gas can and get gas and, well, that was just more trouble than either one of us lazy beings wanted to go through.

Finally we have gotten a house with a patio that is shaded and cool in the afternoon. We were talking this afternoon about how every house we've owned has had a hot in the summer afternoon patio. And no, we weren't even thinking about that when we bought this house, it is just lucky on our part.

While we were out in the yard this afternoon, our across-the-road neighbor came over and introduced herself to us. We've waved at each other, but had never met. She delivers our mail, though, so I'm sure she knows a lot more about us than we do her. :)

Anyway, she was coming over to ask us about a young lady we'd seen walking down the road. It seems this young lady is bipolar, used to date her 23-year-old son, and according to this lady, is nuts and tried to break into her back door last week. And she doesn't know if the baby the young lady has is her son's or not, and it costs $500 for a paternity test, and he can't afford that, though if he would stop all his drinking and carousing he might be able to afford it......Both mine and Hubby's eyes started to glaze over right about then. She's also tired of the damn goats being all in her driveway when she's trying to leave in the morning, and she's rented the place she's in since 1993, hell, she could have bought a place, with all the rent she's paid.

Wow. It was an interesting visit.

All right, guess I'll stop wasting time and go do some of the housecleaning I don't want to do.

Over and out.

So...did you swap keys with the neighbor?? Now you know why the house next to y'all always looks empty. :)
